Bulgaria
Petko Tanchev is a media artist and stage designer. He specializes in developing interactive mapping installations that merge virtual and physical space. With an experimental approach and bold imagination, Tanchev employs new tools and contemporary technologies to create impactful artistic projects.
Since 2008, he has participated in numerous productions and exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. Among his more significant early projects are his debut as stage and video designer for the performance “Four Rooms” at Sofia Theatre (2009), which received two IKAR awards for scenography and technical achievement; the large-scale interactive installation CNNCTR (2015); as well as his role as curator of Creative Media Lab within the NIGHT/Plovdiv festival (2016–2019).
